Abstract
Flavonoid glycosides of 18 Plantago species belonging to six sections were investigated. Twenty-five glycosides were found to belong to the aglycones apigenin, luteolin, chrysoeriol, tricin and the less common hispidulin, nepetin and 5,6,7,3'-tetrahydroxy-4'-methoxyflavone. Only one flavonol glycoside (isorhamnetin 3-rutinoside) was detected in thr ee species belonging to sect. Leucopsyllium. Chemosystematic relations hips are discussed.
