Abstract
A data acquisition system for mass spectrometers has been developed ba sed on an IBM PC plug-in board equipped with a TMS320C25 processor. Th e processing unit, programmed in Assembler language, acquires analog s ignals from the detector of a mass spectrometer and converts it into a n array of digital data. The communication software, written in Pascal language, controls the processor, handles the spectra and stores the data. The system requirements and its properties are discussed and som e applications are shown.
