Low-spin states in doubly-odd Au-184 have been populated in the beta+/
EC decay of Hg-184 produced by bombarding Sm-148 targets with an 185 M
eV Ar-40 beam. Radioactive Hg nuclei were transported by a He jet syst
em. A new level scheme has been established form gamma-gamma-t and X-g
amma-t coincidence measurements. Spin and parity values I(pi) = 5+, I(
pi) = 2+ and I(pi) = 3- were assigned to the ground state and the two
isomeric states of Au-184, respectively. The structure of these states
is discussed usign B(E1) values.
