Abstract
Nesting of two pairs of Black-winged Stilt (Himantopus himantopus) in East Slovakia and five pairs in South-west Slovakia was found in the y ear 1992. Earlier only two cases of its nesting were known in Slovakia . In south-west Slovakia, the nests were built on the asphalted bottom of the diversion canal of the Water Barrage System Gabcikovo near to the village Vojka.
