Abstract
An apparatus for studying electron and ion processes in alkali-halide crystals under high and superhigh electric fields and at low temperatu res (down to that of liquid nitrogen) has been designed. It features a low-pressure plasma electrode. In tests the low-temperature electrolu minescence of rock salt was studied for the first time.
