Abstract
Crack propagation behaviour of a 3Y-TZP ceramic is investigated under static and cyclic fatigue loading by means of the Double Torsion metho d, with a particular interest on the presence of thresholds under whic h no propagation occurs. A crack accelerating effect is shown under cy clic loading, correlated with a decrease in the threshold value. (C) 1 997 Elsevier Science Limited and Techna S.r.l.
