Abstract
This article discusses the various conventional and unconventional dia gnostic modalities for cholestasis in infancy, which pose a challenge to pediatricians. A systematic approach to the evaluation and manageme nt of neonatal cholestasis is discussed. The controversies surrounding the treatment of biliary atresia with the advent of liver transplanta tion are addressed.
