STUDIES ON THE ASYMMETRIC ERROR CHARACTERISTICS AND THE ADDITIVE NOISE RESPONSE OF CHARGE PUMP PLL

Asymmetric error characteristics of a charge pump phase locked loop (C P-PLL) has been examined and a dynamic parameter adjustment scheme has been proposed to eliminate the asymmetry in the loop response. The us efulness of the proposed scheme is verified by the computer simulated system response and by hardware experiment. Also has been reported the additive noise response of a CP-PLL obtained via computer simulation as well as by the analytical method. The results obtained by these two methods agree well with one another in the low input noise conditions .
