A set of spectroscopic constants has been obtained using a single weig
hted least-squares fit involving simultaneously the experimental waven
umbers of the rovibrational lines of C-12 O-16(2) observed at 15 mum a
nd at 4.5 mum, as well as the ''laser difference wavenumbers.'' One hu
ndred thirty-two spectroscopic constants corresponding to 57 vibration
al levels or sublevels upsilon1upsilon2lupsilon3 [(2upsilon1 + upsilon
2) less-than-or-equal-to 4, upsilon3 less-than-or-equal-to 2] and 51 b
and centers, have been determined from 4132 observed rovibrational lin
es, 72 ''laser difference wavenumbers,'' and 40 rovibrational lines be
longing to the laser hot band transition 01(1)1 --> (11(1))1, and are
reproduced within the respective experimental precisions: typically so
me 10(-7) cm-1 for laser transitions, some 10(-5) cm-1 for 4.5-mum tra
nsitions, and some 10(-4) cm-1 for 15-mum transitions. (C) 1994 Academ
