Abstract
A simplified model describing the electronic levels of a (f2g)n config uration is proposed. A new tensorial formulation for Jahn-Teller (line ar, quadratic,. . .) operators is developed. Particular attention is g iven to the case of electronic states with G' symmetry and to their vi bronic structures. Calculations and predictions are made for the a and e electronic states of IrF6.
