The ligand, necarbonyl-4-(alpha-naphthyl)-3-thiosemicarbazide, or (FNT
SH2) and its metal(II) [M2+ = Co2+, Ni2+, Cu2+, Zn2+, Pb2+, Cd2+, UO2(
2+)] complexes have been prepared and characterized by elemental analy
ses, IR, and thermal analyses. The H-1 NMR spectra of the ligand are d
iscussed. The complexes are insoluble in water and in common organic s
olvents. The IR spectral data show that the ligand behaves in a bident
ate or tetradentate manner.
