Abstract
A reasonably good relationship between shear wave velocity (SWV) and s tandard penetration resistance (SPT) of granular soils in agreement wi th previous studies was obtained from held tests. A similar correlatio n between SWV and cone penetration resistance of granular soils was al so obtained. Using Seed's Standard Penetration Test (SPT)based soil li quefaction charts, new charts of soil liquefaction evaluation based on SWV data were developed for various magnitude earthquakes.
