Clinicolaboratory study of the effect of sandimmun in grave forms of p
soriasis was carried out. A total of 70 psoriasis patients and 40 dono
rs were examined. Sandimmun was found to be an effective agent inducin
g a rapid remission in cases when routine methods fail. A course of sa
ndimmun therapy resulted in clinical cure in 67 patients and in a mark
ed improvement in 7. The therapy in selected doses was not as a rule a
ssociated with changes in renal or hepatic function or with noticeable
shifts in immunity status.
