A METHOD FOR TEMPERATURE-MEASUREMENTS IN CIRCULATING FLUIDIZED-BED COMBUSTORS

A method for measuring the local suspension temperature with a shielde d thermocouple in the combustion chamber of a circulating fluidized be d (CFB) boiler is described. The report also includes an estimation of the error in the local temperature measurement due to radiation losse s and some test results in the 12 MW(th) circulating fluidized bed boi ler at Chalmers University of Technology, Goteborg, Sweden. A typical suspension temperature distribution in the combustion chamber of the C FB boiler is provided, and the estimated uncertainty is found to be be low 4%, corresponding to 25-degrees-C at normal operating condition. T he experimental results are compared with available data in the litera ture.
