Abstract
The methanide carbon of [Au(C6F5)(PPh(2)-CHPPh(2)Me)] acts as a nucleo philic center toward reagents such as carbon disulfide and isothiocyan ates, affording [Au-III{PPh(2)C(PPh(2)Me)C(X)S}(2)][Au-1(C6F5)(2)] (X = S (I), 4-ClC6H4N (2), PhN (3)) through a carbon-carbon coupling reac tion. The X-ray structure of 1 shows the ligand PPh(2)C(PPh(2)Me)C(X)S acting as a bidentate P,S-chelate.
