Abstract
Cutaneous dermatophyte infections are limited to the superficial layer s of the epidermis. Tropical and subtropical regions of the world prov ide warm and humid climates and therefore a favorable environment for organisms causing superficial dermatophyte infections. This article de als with cutaneous dermatophyte infections, with particular emphasis o n those occurring in tropical regions of the world. History, causative organisms, diagnosis, and treatment are discussed.
