Abstract
Schistosomiasis is the name given to a group of diseases caused by tre
matodes of the genus Schistosome. Humans and other animals are definit
ive hosts, and snails of various genera are intermediate hosts. This a
rticle reviews the epidemiology, pathology, cutaneous manifestations,
and treatment of these diseases.
