Abstract
Direct electrophilic perfluoroacylation of acetylenes with trifluoroac etic anhydride activated by BF3.SMe(2) complex lends to the correspond ing sulfonium salts, which are the products of conjugate addition of t he CF3CO- group and dimethyl sulfide. Demethylation of the sulfonium s alts leads to corresponding vinyl sulfide bearing CF3CO - moiety. Oxid ation of sulfides gives rise to alpha,beta - unsaturated sulfones with trifluoroacyl group.z
