Abstract
Pacifenol, a halogenated sesquiterpene was isolated from Laurencia cla viformis. Minor chemical transformations of pacifenol gave some deriva tives whose structures were determined by its spectral properties and by X-ray diffraction analysis in derivatives 2 and 6, respectively. Th e effect of these compounds on the feeding behaviour of the aphid Schi zaphis graminum was studied.
