The UV-derivative spectrophotometric method was used for the simultane
ous determination of paracetamol (PA) and caffeine (CAF). The first an
d second derivative spectra were obtained with a TURBO-PASCAL computer
program and SPECORD M-42 (Carl-Zeiss Jena) respectively. The quantita
tive determination of both drugs was made using the ''zero-crossing''
technique, in the range of concentration: 10-40 mug/ml for PA and 1.0-
3.0 mug/ml for CAF. The method was applied for the simultaneous determ
ination of the two drugs from CODAMIN P-tablets.
