Abstract
(24S)-24-methylcholesta-5,22E-diene-3beta,25-diol (6) has been isolate d for the first time from nature along with 4alpha-methylgorgostanol ( 1), 4alpha-methyl-24-methylenecholestanol (2), two cembrenoid diterpen oids (3,4) and four known polyhydroxysterols (5,8,9,10) from a soft co ral of Lobophytum species. The structures have been determined from th e spectral data (NMR and mass).
