A. Hajisheikh et Jv. Beck, GREEN-FUNCTION SOLUTION FOR THERMAL-WAVE EQUATION IN FINITE BODIES, International journal of heat and mass transfer, 37(17), 1994, pp. 2615-2626
The classical diffusion theory is based on the assumption of local the
rmal equilibrium. For conduction in thin films or at low temperature,
the classical theory of heat conduction breaks down. Various investiga
tions have shown that a wave-type conduction equation adequately descr
ibes the thermal energy transport. This paper describes a general solu
tion technique when the wave nature of thermal energy transport is dom
inant. The solution for temperature distribution is derived for finite
bodies. The definition of Green's functions for a wave-type conductio
n equation is presented and a general form of the Green's function sol
ution method for finite bodies is introduced.
