The transient heat transfer in forced convection for simultaneously de
veloping laminar flow inside a parallel-plate channel is studied by so
lving the steady momentum equation with the generalized integral trans
form technique and the transient energy equation through a hybrid appr
oach that combines the integral transform method with a second-order a
ccurate finite-differences scheme. Semi-analytical results are then pr
esented for the fluid bulk temperature and local Nusselt number along
the channel as a function of position and time.
