Abstract
Investigation of the roots of Patrinia scabra afforded two new iridola ctones, patriscabrol and isopatriscabrol. Their structures have been e stablished by extensive analysis of their NMR spectra and an X-ray cry stallographic analysis of patriscabrol. Four monoglucosides of each ir idolactone were also isolated together with an apioside of glucosidic patriscabrol.
