Abstract
Four norbornadiene aromatic derivatives, potentially useful for light energy photochemical storage, were synthesized. Their photophysical pr operties and the kinetics of the valence photoisomerization reaction i nto quadricyclanes were investigated. Overall first-order rate constan ts of photoisomerization were found to be very fast and to vary marked ly with the polarity of the solvent.
