Abstract
Three experiments were carried out on calves experimentally or natural ly infected with gastrointestinal nematodes and lungworms and treated with a ''pour-on'', formulation of levamisole (Niratil ND, Gifavet Vir bac) at 10 mg/kg bodyweight. The efficacy of this formulation estimate d by worm or egg/larval counts was high against Dictyocaulus viviparus , Ostertagia ostertagi, Cooperia oncophora and Nematodirus spp. adult stages. Immature stages were unsteadily eliminated. Results were equiv alent to those obtained by other authors with oral or parenteral singl e dose administration. Whatever the type of infection (field or experi mental or both), similar results were obtained. No adverse reactions t o treatment were observed.
