Abstract
Monitoring the pulse shape of the low-frequency fluctuations instabili ties of a semiconductor laser under optical feedback, an asymmetry bet ween the fron and rear facet laser outputs has been detected for the f irst time. This behavior is ascribed to a dynamic change in the cohere nce properties of the emitted light during each laser pulse.
