Abstract
Biological systems are self-organized with a far from equilibrium meta stable state in controlled by flows of chemical or thermal energy and matter through the cells. The systems forma dissipative structure with a stable point. Chemical reactions are described by nonlinear equatio ns with coefficients depending on control parameters. In the steady st ate, a reproduction process given by a simple autocatalytic scheme ari ses with a fold catastrophe through the changes in the parameters caus ed by a stimulus. The rate equation is equivalent to that derived from a simple laser model. On the analogy of the laser action, the reprodu ction can be extended to a process given by a trimolecular scheme, whi ch describes an avalanche or cascade phenomenon.
