Abstract
The article is dedicated to the 100-th anniversary of A. A. Smirnov, w ho played an important role in Russian psychology during Soviet phase of its development: in spite of ideological pressure he managed to ach ieve important scietific results. His role as an organizer of science is described as well as the main biographical events.
