V. Peikov et al., ELECTROOPTICS OF SEMIDILUTE DISPERSIONS - SEPARATION OF ELECTRICAL AND OPTICAL EFFECTS, Journal of colloid and interface science, 168(1), 1994, pp. 1-7
A field intensity scaling method is applied to the electro-optic study
of semidilute palygorskite suspensions in the concentration range 0.0
1-40 g/liter. Since both electric and optical interparticle interactio
ns influence the electrooptic behavior of the dispersions in this inte
rval, the method helps to distinguish between electric and optical ori
gins of the observed peculiarities of the effects. Thus electrooptic p
arameters sensitive to electric interactions are displayed. (C) 1994 A
