Ws. Smyth et S. Swain, DRESSED STATES AND RESONANCE FLUORESCENCE OF A 2-LEVEL ATOM IN A SQUEEZED VACUUM, Optics communications, 112(1-2), 1994, pp. 91-100
The dressed state populations and resonance fluorescence spectra of a
two level atom interacting with a detuned classical field in the prese
nce of a squeezed vacuum are investigated. The classical field need no
t be resonant with the atomic transition and the squeezing need not be
perfect. It is found that the asymmetry of the resonance fluorescence
spectra may be reversed on applying a very small change in the detuni
ng. We point out that, in general, the spectra are extremely sensitive
to the degree of perfection of the squeezing. A slight degree of impe
rfection may cause many of the interesting features to disappear.
