Kr. Dunbar et Js. Sun, SYNTHESIS AND STRUCTURE OF THE DISTORTED OCTAHEDRAL PALLADIUM(II) COMPLEX [PD(TMPP)(2)][BF4](2) [TMPP NUMBER TRIS(2.4,6-TRIMETHOXYPHENYL)PHOSPHINE], Journal of the Chemical Society, Chemical Communications, (20), 1994, pp. 2387-2388
The brick-red Pd-II complex [Pd(tmpp)(2)][BF4](2) is isolated from the
reaction of [Pd(NCCH3)(4)][BF4](2) and tmpp (tris(2,4,6-trimethoxyphe
nyl)phosphine) (2 equiv.) in acetone at -44 degrees C; the new phosphi
ne compound constitutes a rare example of a distorted octahedral Pd-II
compound and exhibits the shortest Pd-L(ax) distances reported to dat
e for six-coordinate Pd-II complexes.
