Abstract
Controlled potential oxidation of [Cu(H(2)dped)](1+)1 in 1,2-dichloroe thane or reaction of [Cu(H2O)(6)](BF4)(2) With H(2)dped in acetone aff ords the complex [Cu(H(2)dped)](2+)2 i.e. a Cu-II species stabilized b y a soft-hard (P2N2) ligand set.
