Abstract
Substituted anilines react with phenylacetylene in the presence of mon tmorillonite KSF affording 1,1-diarylethylenes 3 in good yields and ex cellent selectivities. In the presence of an excess of phenylacetylene . para-toluidine and para-anisidine give the corresponding 2,6-bis(1-p henylvinyl)anilines. (C) 1997 Published by Elsevier Science Ltd.
