T. Zwitter et U. Munari, CCD SPECTROPHOTOMETRY OF CVS .1. 4600-9000-ANGSTROM LOW-RESOLUTION ATLAS FOR 31 FAINT SYSTEMS, Astronomy & Astrophysics. Supplement series, 107(3), 1994, pp. 503-514
A low resolution (similar to 18 Angstrom) 4600-9000 Angstrom spectroph
otometric atlas is presented for 31 objects in the Downes & Shara (199
3) catalogue of Cataclysmic Variables. The star were selected among th
ose listed without published quiescence spectra. All the spectra we pr
esent pertain to photometric quiescence phases. V - R, R-I colors, con
tinuum fluxes at selected wavelengths, equivalent widths of emission l
ines and description of absorption lines and bands are given for all t
he programme stars. Of the 31 systems surveyed, 19 have spectra confir
ming their classification as CVs, 8 show continua without emission lin
es, one is a planetary nebula, another one could be a symbiotic star a
nd one turned out to be a starburst galaxy.
