Abstract
Inulin has been found to be a better inducer of invertase than sucrose and this red to an increased secretion of invertase in the medium on using inulin as a carbon source for growth of various Aspergillus spec ies and Kluyveromyces fragilis. The maximum production of 23 units ml( -1) of medium was observed in K. fragilis (NCIM 3217).
