Abstract
Aerial parts of five Vernonia species, i.e. V. leopoldi, V. myriantha, V. syringifolia, V. filigera and V. cinerascens were investigated and yielded a variety of sesquiterpene lactones, some of which were previ ously unknown, as well as flavonoids and a coumarin.
