Abstract
NMR was used to study the interaction between alkoxysilane compounds a
nd a MgCl2-supported Ziegler-Natta catalyst (MgCl2/TiCl4/dibutyl phtha
late). Si-29 NMR data indicated the interaction of alkoxysilane compou
nds with MgCl2 on the solid-catalyst, but not with TiCl4. Moreover, we
found a correlation between the Si-29 chemical shift of the alkoxysil
ane compounds and isotactic or atactic polymerization rate in the prop
ylene polymerization.
