M. Quintero, TEMPERATURE-VARIATION OF OPTICAL-ENERGY GAP VALUES OF CD1-ZMNZIN2TE4, Journal of physics and chemistry of solids, 58(3), 1997, pp. 497-502
Measurement of optical absorption in the temperature range 20-300 K we
re made on polycrystalline samples of the alloy system Cd1-zMn2In2Te4.
These results were used to determine Values of the optical energy gap
E(g) as a function of temperature T. The resulting curves of E(g) vs
T were fitted to a simplified Manoogian-Leclerc equation and the fitte
d coefficients used to give values of (dE(g)/dT)(1) and (dE(g)/dT)(2),
due to lattice dilation and electron-phonon contributions, respective
ly. Hence, the deformation potentials of the valence and conduction ba
nds were estimated for the present compounds and alloys. (C) 1997 Else
