S. Varro et F. Ehlotzky, EFFECT OF TARGET DRESSING IN FREE-FREE TRANSITIONS IN A BICHROMATIC LASER FIELD, Journal of physics. B, Atomic molecular and optical physics, 30(4), 1997, pp. 1061-1070
The influence of laser dressing of the atomic target on free-free tran
sitions in a bichromatic laser field of variable relative phase is inv
estigated. For simplicity, hydrogen is taken as target atom and only t
he elastic, non-resonant case is considered. Exchange effects are negl
ected and the scattering process is treated to the lowest-order Born a
pproximation. It is found that at very small scattering angles the dre
ssing effects have some influence on the phase dependence of the scatt
ering cross sections in a bichromatic field.
