H. Neber, DEVELOPMENT OF A SCALE FOR COOPERATIVE AN D COMPETITIVE LEARNING PREFERENCES, PSYCHOLOGIE IN ERZIEHUNG UND UNTERRICHT, 41(4), 1994, pp. 282-290
A learning preference scale has been developed with samples of apprent
ices at a vocational school and secondary school students who attended
a summer school program for gifted students from the German Gymnasium
(grammar school), i.e. Federal Pupils Academy. The scale is a reliabl
e instrument for measuring the preferences for cooperative and competi
tive learning. These preferences correlated with learning strategies o
f students and a cooperatively oriented instruction reduced the prefer
ences for competitive learning.
