Abstract
Pheromone traps baited with a 100:3 mixture of (E,Z)-2,13-octadecadien -1-ol acetate and (E,Z)-3,13-octadecadien-1-ol acetate were used for m onitoring the flight of the currant borer, Synanthedon tipuliformis Cl . (Lepidoptera: Sesiidae) in two black currant fields in Bulgaria in 1 989 and 1990. It was shown that these traps are appropriate for season -long monitoring of the pest. In the years investigated the flight of the currant borer started at the beginning of May and lasted 78-91 day s.
