A. Bianconi et al., SIMPLE CLASSIFICATION OF FINAL-STATE INTERACTION EFFECTS IN HE-4(E,E'P) SCATTERING, Physics letters. Section B, 338(2-3), 1994, pp. 123-129
The radius of interaction between the struck proton and spectator nucl
eons is close to the radius of short-distance two-nucleon correlations
in nuclear matter, which makes final state interaction (FSI) an impor
tant background to production of protons with large missing momentum.
We present a simple classification of the dominant FSI effects in incl
usive He-4(e, e'p) scattering and identify parts of the phase space do
minated by FSI. At large missing momentum, final state interaction lea
ds to a striking angular anisotropy of the missing momentum distributi
on, which has a prominent peak in transverse kinematics and smaller, f
orward-backward asymmetric, peaks in parallel kinematics.
