Abstract
It is shown that the simplest breaking of the subnuclear democracy lea ds to a successful description of the mixing between the second and th ird family. In the lepton channel the upsilon(mu)-upsilon(tau) oscilla tions are expected to be described by a mixing angle of 2.65 degrees w hich might be observed soon in neutrino experiments.
