Jm. Rowejones et Da. Wright, SINUSITIS - CURRENT TREATMENT WITH FUNCTIONAL ENDOSCOPIC SINUS SURGERY, British Journal of Hospital Medicine, 52(6), 1994, pp. 269
Minimal inflammation in the narrow openings of the lateral nasal wall
may obstruct the major sinuses and produce maxillary or frontal sinusi
tis. Cold-light endoscopy enables diagnostic, outpatient examination o
f these key recesses. Surgery can then be limited to precise, endoscop
ic, intranasal clearance of the openings only. More traditional and ra
dical procedures of sinus exenteration, using an external approach, ar
e avoided.
