A SIMPLE, ADAPTABLE 2D MESH GENERATION PACKAGE

A simple and adaptable 2D automatic mesh generation package is present ed here. It can be used for an arbitrary 2D domain with complex geomet ry. The basic element created is the triangular three-node element. Tw o updated elements are also available which are the triangular six-nod e and quadratic four-node elements. The package is called adaptable be cause the initial mesh can be adapted according to the user's opinions . Our tests show that the developed package is very suitable for 2D fi nite element analysis. Three actual problems are examined.
