Th-234 content in water and suspended matter of the Karskoye sea. Meth
ods of extraction and measurement of Th-234 concentration is described
. 9 samples of the surface water and columns at two stations are analy
sed. Average transition time of Th-234 from the soluble state to the s
uspended form, residence time of suspended Th-234 and Th-234 flux in b
ottom sediments are calculated. The latter parameter in surface water
was found to be substantially controlled by the salinity. The dominant
contribution to the integral flux is concerned with the water mass ne
ar the layer of shift, the latter being the region of zooplankton accu
mulation.
