Abstract
The kinetics of atmospheric corrosion of carbon steel St3, chromium st eel 12Kh13, austenitic stainless steel Kh18N9T, zinc, copper, brass, a luminum, aluminum alloys D16 and AMts, and magnesium alloy MA2-1 in re presentative locations of the humid tropical climate of Vietnam, viz., Hanoi, Nha Trang, and Ho Chi Minh is considered. The climatic and aer ochemical parameters of the test sites, the temperature-humidity chara cteristics of the atmosphere, and the corrosion behavior of the metals are presented. The corrosion rate (penetration depth) was estimated b y weighing. The series of corrosion resistance of metals and alloys in coastal and urban atmospheres of Vietnam humid tropics are presented.
