Abstract
H(infinity) optimisation was used to design a controller for an electr omechanical drive, subjected to imperfectly known memoryless nonlinear ities and uncertain inertia and elasticity of the load. After classica l two- and four-block criteria has been tested, more satisfying result s were obtained by using a multi-block criterion, which was built by t aking advantage of the physical knowledge of the plant.
