Abstract
The (2'-deuterioethenyl)cyclopropanes isomerize to 3-deuteriocyclopent ene at 341 degrees C with k(H)/k(D) = 1.08 and 1.15 for the Z and E is omers, respectively. These normal effects are consistent with 2Z-pente n-1,5-diyl diradical transition structures for the isomerization.
